Feeling very productive this week but also as it’s my first full week of paleo I’m missing snacks quite bitterly. I suppose I should really describe my eating style as primal more than paleo as I just cannot give up cheese. It’s too wonderful.
Going to the cinema is one of my favourite things but its also an occasion that I’m sorely tempted by junk food. I knew my willpower would be stronger if I brought something with me. What snack could I make in the 10 minute window between finishing work and leaving for the cinema? Hmmm I remember as a kid melting dollops of cheese and eating the crispy results mixed with that gorgeous msg filled arrowmat seasoning. (Does that still exist? It was scary but delicious).
I wasn’t hip enough to call them cheese crisps at that point but if my clueless teenage self could make them……
Well they were easy peasy and so quick! I mixed grated cheese with some garlic powder and put little piles of cheesey goodness (about the diameter of a teacup each) on baking paper in the oven and they were done in 10 minutes. I only had emmental in the fridge and I think they would be better with mozzarella which would take more spices or perhaps a cheddar and Parmesan mix. To be tested next week!
